About the writer
I am a writer. I make my living as a journalist, lecturer, writing workshop facilitator and editor. Occasionally, people pay me to yammer on for an hour about my observations in covering the Middle East. In my less practical moments, I’ve written short stories, memoir haikus, and most recently, a novel called Baghdad Fixer. But it is the joys and challenges of motherhood at 40 that have pushed me headlong into the blogosphere.
